Privacy Policy - Handyman
This Privacy Policy explains what data Handyman collects, how it is used, and your choices.
1) Data We Collect
- Account data: name, email address, phone number, role (homeowner/handyman/admin), profile photo
- Location data: precise location (latitude/longitude) and related map/address details for service matching
- Service request data: selected service category, job photos, voice notes, text details, status updates
- Offer data: offered price, handyman info needed to process and show offers
- Support data: messages sent to support/admin
- Technical identifiers: Firebase user ID and push notification token (FCM/APNs)
2) How We Use Data
- Create and manage user accounts
- Match homeowners with nearby handymen
- Show job invites, offers, accepted/rejected/cancelled/completed status
- Enable maps, directions, and live job location views
- Send service and support notifications
- Handle support requests and account actions (including deletion requests)
3) Data Sharing
Data is shared only as required to run the service flow between users. For example, when a job is accepted, relevant counterpart details (such as name, phone, and location context) are shown to complete the service safely. We do not sell personal data and do not share it with data brokers.
4) Storage and Security
Data is stored using Firebase services (Authentication, Realtime Database, Storage, Messaging). We apply project rules and role-based app logic to reduce unauthorized access.
5) Retention and Deletion
Data is retained while your account is active or as needed for app operations. You can request account deletion from within the app or by contacting support.
6) Permissions
- Location: required for nearby worker search and map features
- Photos/Camera: required when uploading profile/job images
- Microphone: required when recording job voice notes
- Notifications: used for service and support updates
7) Children's Privacy
Handyman is not intended for children under 13 years of age.
8) Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised date.
